A responsive portfolio for my charcoal practice, built to let the artwork lead while making commissions and enquiries straightforward.
An artwork portfolio has to preserve the impact of each piece without hiding the practical path to a commission. The site gives visitors a focused way to browse the work, understand the practice and start an enquiry.

The constraint that shaped the build.
The site needed to feel personal and image-led without becoming slow, over-designed or difficult to navigate on a phone.

Make the rules visible.
I built the visual system around the work itself, then kept the supporting interface quiet. Responsive image delivery, restrained motion and route-specific metadata were treated as core product work.

The production site uses Next.js, responsive galleries, search metadata, a custom domain and a Resend-powered contact flow.
Outcome
